Madsen’s Sub Role Goes Sour

Hoping to put Danny Reidy’s entry into victory lane over the weekend in a substitute role, Ian Madsen ran into trouble late in the race, and ended up with a DNF in Brisbane.

“We had a good car, and were looking at a good finish, but we got into a little trouble with some spinning cars, and ended our night,” Madsen said.

Lining up seventh in both of his heat races, Madsen scored a pair of sixth place finishes, putting his No.5 machine in the feature event, where he would grid the field from the fourth row.

With the race going green, Madsen was okay early, as he climbed up into the fifth spot, as he utilized a pair of early race restart to his advantage.

Running in the fifth spot, Madsen seemed to be a fifth place car, as the lead pack got into thick lapped traffic, as he chased down Bryan Mann and David Muirr.

As the laps closed, trouble struck in front of Madsen, as a pair of cars spun, collecting Madsen, and ending his night.

“It was tough, but I have to thank (Danny) Reidy for giving me the opportunity to drive for him, he has a first class operation,” Madsen said.

Madsen would like to thank Watson’s Express Transport, Australia Wide Towing, Lucas Oil, EJF Engineering, Mike Hughes & Partners, City Access Scaffolding, Blackshaw’s Motor Body Repairs, ButlerBuilt, and Factory Kahne Shocks for their continued support.
