Salina Highbanks Speedway Highlights Outlaws Return to the Midwest

By Shawn Miller
SALINA, Okla. (April 16, 2013) – When Salina Highbanks Speedway is brought up, drivers salivate.
The super-fast, high-banked track hosts the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series for the second time on Friday, April 26.
Championship points leader Daryn Pittman finished fourth in the inaugural event, which Craig Dollansky won in 2011.
“Salina is just a really unique, honestly in my opinion, the best layed out sprint car track in the country,” Pittman said. “It’s just a great shape. It’s the right size. It’s fast and it’s round and it’s really wide. There’s always easily a top, bottom and maybe even a middle. There’s no excuse for not finding your way around a guy because there’s a way around that place to pass a guy if you’re better than him.”
Pittman is on a roll this season, having amassed three feature victories, 10 top fives and 13 top 10s – which all lead the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series.
