Owasso, OK — (May 12, 2013) — Following a rare weekend off, Tony Bruce Jr. has a lot on his plate this week.

Amidst logistical issues regarding his truck and trailer, Bruce Jr. is also sharing focus on two races with varying degrees of difficulty this weekend. His business – TBJ Promotions – is set for its first race of the season on Friday at US 36 Raceway near Cameron, Mo., for the 2nd annual US 36 Nationals Presented by RacinBoys, which features the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

“I’m looking forward to going and racing there,” he said. “Last year we had to come out of the B Main. We had a pretty good car. Every time we’ve been there we’ve had a fast car. Hopefully we can get better track position and win one of our races.”

Bruce Jr. claimed the B Main and then charged from 17th to eighth at the inaugural US 36 Nationals Presented by RacinBoys last July. He is again pulling double duty as co-promoter and competitor at the first Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event since April 6. Bruce Jr. is currently tied for fourth in the standings.

On Saturday, Bruce Jr. and his crew will visit the famed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, for their first test since the Knoxville Nationals last August.

“It’s more of just redeeming ourselves from last year,” he said. “We led some laps in the 360 Knoxville Nationals on the prelim night and didn’t finish how we wanted. We’ve just got to get up to Knoxville and get some laps.”

Bruce Jr. earned the pole of the 20-lap feature on the second preliminary night of the 22nd annual Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals. He led the first seven laps before dropping to 14th.

“We just faded so bad,” Bruce Jr. said. “It was a real big disappointment last year.

“We’ve got our brand new Roush Yates 360 engine to take over there and shake down. We’re going there to get some laps and ultimately to win. Everybody wants to win a race at Knoxville.”
