Port Royal Returns May 25 With Fallen Heroes Championships Triple 25s

Port Royal, PA – (May 13, 2013) – After a week off for Spring Break on May 18, Port Royal Speedway will return with a big Memorial Day Saturday racing program on May 25 with the Port Royal Fallen Heroes Championship Triple 25s for 410 sprints, late models and PASS 305 sprints.

 

All three of the divisions will race in 25-lap features boasting increased purses aside from increased winner’s shares.

 

The Aumiller’s Insurance 410 Sprints will race for $5,000 to win while the Gray’s Auto and Towing late models compete for a $2,000 payday.   Both classes will utilize time trials to set starting lineups.

 

Racing will begin at 7 pm with gates opening at 5.

 

The night’s events will commemorate the fallen heroes of Port Royal Speedway, honoring those who have given the ultimate sacrifice at the oval while doing what they loved – race.

 

It will be Pepsi Night at the track with 20 12-paks of Pepsi Cola products being given away to fans off of general admission ticket numbers along with passes to Knoebels Grove and Hershey Amusement Parks and NASCAR at Pocono Raceway.

 

In addition, the first 100 fans entering the grandstand will receive either a free Pepsi hat or a Pepsi shirt.

 

A fireworks display by Skyshooter Pyrotechnics will be presented at intermission to help honor the fallen heroes as well as kick off the summer season.

 

The fireworks and the racing program are sponsored by Packer’s Concessions of Centre Hall.

 

Packer’s will offer various concessions around the grounds for the program all in celebration of the holiday weekend and racing program.

 

CRANKWERKZ of Carlisle is an associate sponsor of the program.

 

It will also be York County Racing Club Night at the track.

 

And then on June 1 a Salute To The Military will be held for all past or present members of the military who attend with a military I.D. or in uniform afforded free general admission for the night.

 

Racing will include 410 sprints, late models, pro stocks and enduros.

 

The track will also be in action on Tuesday, June 4 at 7 pm as it hosts a recently added program featuring the Appalachian Mountain Dirt Late Model Speedweek Series for super late models plus 358 late models.

 

The USAC wingless sprints will invade Port Royal on June 8 along with the ARDC Midgets.
