POWRi Speed Week Ends With a Rain Out at VCS

Danville, IL — (June 9, 2013) — POWRi Racing’s fourth and final event of its inaugural Speed Week at Vermillion County Speedway for the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget Series co-sanctioned by Badger and POWRi Speedway Motors 600cc Outlaw Micro Series scheduled for Sunday has been canceled by an 80 percent forecast for rain.

 

POWRi’s next National Midget event is scheduled for June 23 at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. It will be co-sanctioned by Badger and the USAC Honda National Midget Series. POWRi’s next 600cc Outlaw Micro event is scheduled for June 29 at Bloomington (Ind.) Speedway.

 

Speed Week’s Midget winners were Kyle Larson of Elk Grove, Calif., at Jacksonville (Ill.) Speedway on Thursday, Michael Pickens of New Zealand at Lincoln (Ill.) Speedway on Friday and Andrew Felker of Carl Junction, Mo., at Macon (Ill.) on Saturday. The Micro feature winners were Mike Dicely of Lewisberry, Pa., at Jacksonville, Nathan Benson of Concordia, Mo., at Lincoln and Cale Thomas of Fairland, Ind., at Macon.
