Tragedy at Bridgeport

Bridgeport, NJ — (June 12, 2013) — The “Night of Wings” event Wednesday night at Bridgeport Speedway was postponed after an accident took the life of veteran driver Jason Leffler.

 

Leffler, age 37, was two time United States Auto Club National Midget Car Series champion, a Silver Crown champion, and competed in the 2000 Indianapolis 500.  Leffler also forged out a successful NASCAR career over the past decade primarily in the Nationwide and Truck Series.

 

Recently Leffler had been making frequent starts in the Busch Racing #13 winged sprint car, racing frequently in Central Pennsylvania.  Leffler is survived by his son Charlie.
