Selinsgrove, PA — (July 5, 2013) — Selinsgrove Speedway cancelled Sunday night’s PA Speedweek finale for 410 sprint cars and super sportsman at 5 p.m. when strong thunderstorms hit the track.

Seven of the nine races (Grandview also cancelled due to inclement weather last Tuesday) were completed during this year’s 23rd annual running of the series. Greg Hodnett of Thomasville, a series winner at Williams Grove Speedway on June 28, held a 15-point lead over Fred Rahmer of Salfordville going into Sunday night’s finale and will be crowned as the 2013 PA Speedweek champion for the fourth time in his career.

The next race at Selinsgrove Speedway will be Saturday, July 20, featuring the 358 sprint cars, late models, pro stocks, and roadrunners on Driver & Fan Appreciation Night sponsored by Jeff’s Auto Body & Recycling Center. There will be no racing at the track on Saturday, July 13, for the speedway’s summer break.

The 410 sprint cars will return to Selinsgrove Speedway Saturday, Sept. 14, in the 31st annual Selinsgrove Ford Jim Nace Memorial National Open. This year’s 44-lap Open will pay $12,000 to win.
