The 2013 “Freedom Tour” starts August 21 at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa, Okla., opening a four-race USAC Southwest Sprint Car swing concluding with three races in Kansas.

R.J. Johnson will take an 82-point lead over Charles Davis Jr. into the August swing. He finished third in last Saturday night’s race at Peoria, Ariz., a race won by Davis.

Davis, of Buckeye, Ariz., captured Saturday night’s 30-lap “Summer Slam” USAC Southwest Sprint Car race at Canyon Speedway Park. He led the final 22 laps after passing Shon Deskins on lap nine. Deskins finished second ahead of Johnson, Tom Ogle and Andy Reinbold. Davis piloted the Massey entry to the victory.
