URC & PST UNITE FOR SPRINT CHALLENGE AT BLACK ROCK

With heavy hearts, the competitors and friends of the United Racing Company will head to Dundee, NY for the Black Rock 360 Sprint Championship at the Black Rock Speedway on Friday night.  The following night, Saturday, August 10 The Rislone URC Sprints will make a return visit to the Selinsgrove Speedway.    Missing from the field will be three time URC Champion Kramer Williamson who lost his life in a racing accident on Saturday night at the Lincoln Speedway.  Numerous salutes and tributes are in the planning stages to remember a driver who had such a powerful and positive impression on the sport of sprint car racing.

 

The Friday night Black Rock 360 Sprint Championship will bring together the Rislone URC Sprints and Patriot Sprint Tour of New York.   The format will offer an open draw and passing points with a series of ten lap qualifying heat race events and a  twelve lap “B” Main.   The excitement will build leading up to the $4,000 to win 25 lap Black Rock 360 Sprint Championship.  Gates will open at 5 PM with action getting underway at 6:45 PM.  Dean Hoag, Promoter of the Black Rock Speedway  has worked several years at building this show to be a huge annual event.

JJ Grasso “The Jersey Jet” is URC’s current leader with just a narrow forty-three point advantage over URC’s “Wild Child” Josh Weller of Mertztown, PA.   Davie “No Panic” Franek of Wantage, NJ is third in points, trailing Weller by just seven points.   Rounding out the top five in points is  Brian Carber, Randy West, Chad Trout, Art Liedl and Kevin Darling.  All of URC’s top ten are expected to be in action on Friday night at Black Rock Speedway.  For the  (PST) Patriot Sprint Tour, there roster is expected to include Scott Kreulter, Jared Zimbardi, Tommy Wickham, Justin Barger, Brad Kuab, Geoff Quackenbush, Clint Ide and George Suprick just to name a few.

 

On Saturday night, August 10th  the Rislone URC Sprint Series returns to the Selinsgrove Speedway in Selinsgrove, PA  joined by a complete program of 358 Sprints, Late Models and Pro-Stocks with racing getting underway at 7:30 PM.

 

Selinsgrove will ask all their race fans to “Think Pink” to honor Kramer Williamson.   The United Racing Company and the Selinsgrove Speedway Management are asking all who attend Saturday night (male and female) to wear something pink, in honor of the familiar #73 Pink Panther driven by Kramer Williamson.   All race fans, competitors and crew members are strongly encouraged to participate.    Maybe it’s a pink shirt, pink hat, pink sunglasses or  pink shoelaces, just do it.
