Concord, CA — (August 12, 2013)  — Sprint Car driving star Damion Gardner of Concord, California, is making progress on his way to becoming the world’s fastest sprint car driver after passing his first test on the legendary Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah on Monday.

The first test of the day was for Gardner to put the gorgeous “Green Demon” down the track on a targeted run.  He was restricted to under 150 MPH to get a “D” License.  Gardner targeted 136 MPH and he was clocked at 137.718 using only his tachometer!

His second targeted pass of the day for the next license level could not exceed 175 MPH.  The “Demon” targeted the speed for that run at between 167-170.  Unfortunately, that run was spoiled by an oil leak and a speed of 143.101 MPH.

Undeterred, the crew quickly repaired the oil leak and was ready for their third try of the day and another volley at the 167-170 MPH run.  However, another car crashed on the course and being late in the afternoon, festivities were shut down until Tuesday morning.  The crew is poised and ready to be back after it early in the AM.

More good news for the team comes with Go Rhino! jumping on board to sponsor Gardner’s effort because they endorse his high speed racing action lifestyle and automotive adventures such as “The World’s Fastest Sprint Car” project.

“We are happy to announce that Go Rhino! has joined forces with us on “The World’s Fastest Sprint Car” project,” Gardner said on Monday evening.  “They are known far and wide for the quality automotive aftermarket products they produce and we hope to get a lot of exposure for them through this endeavor.”
