One week after showing some serious speed from the rear of the field, Lance Dewease scored his third win of the season Monday at Port Royal, and tallied four top-10 finishes during a busy Labor Day weekend.

The Monday show saw Dewease line his Lelands.com/Conduit Connections/Pasquirellos’ Auto Shop in the third row of the feature event.

By lap two, Dewease had put his entry into shouting distance of the lead duo, by way of some very daring moves on the brutal daytime racing surface.

In the third spot, Dewease chased after Blaine Heimbach and Logan Schuchart, as he found the high, scary side to his liking with them running the bottom.

On the fifth lap, Dewease carried his momentum from the highside around second running Heimbach exiting turn two to take over the second spot, and dover under Schuchart in turn one on the sixth lap, to take over the top spot.

In the lead, Dewease found himself in heavy traffic, with Schuchart on his rear bumper, until the caution flew on the ninth lap.

When the race returned to action, Dewease stayed committed to the top of the track, while Schuchart hung with him utilizing the bottom of the track.

With 10-to-go, Schuchart pulled alongside Dewease in one and two, in the next pair of corners, the Fayetteville, PA driver dropped to the bottom and slammed the door, and went on to score the big Labor Day win.

Dewease opened his weekend up at the Williams Grove Speedway on Friday night with a third place finish. The team was at Port Royal on Saturday, and after setting a 10-lap track record in heat race action, Dewease scored another fourth place finish.

Back at Williams Grove on Sunday night, Dewease scored a 10th place finish.

“Overall it was a great weekend for our team,” he said. “It is great to score another victory, and hopefully we can score a couple more as this season quickly winds down. I have to thank Mike Heffner, and all the guys for working so hard all weeked.”
