Montpelier, In. Sept. 7th– Parker Price-Miller came from his sixth starting position to win the 20 lap Midget feature at Montpelier Motor Speedway Saturday night. Don O’Keefe and Shane Hollingsworth made up the front row for the main event and Hollingsworth jumped to the lead with Nick Lucas following close behind.

As Hollingsworth maintained the top spot through the early laps, Lucas closed some, however Miller was making his way through traffic passing cars high and low. At ten laps, Hollingsworth was approaching traffic and as he went low the 9p of Miller went to the top of the track and made the pass for the lead on the eleventh circuit.

The yellow flew on lap eleven for the 41 of Joe Ligouri. At the re-start Miller continued as the leader with Hollingsworth being pressured by Lucas for second and on lap thirteen the pair bumped in turn four with Hollingsworth spinning. Now the order was Miller, Lucas, Justin Peck, Blake Edwards, Billy Wease and Linsay Liguori.

With five to go, Miller had widened his lead but racing behind him was excellent with the 5x (from 9th) of Justin Peck making the pass for second at the checkers with Lucas, Blake Edwards and Billy Wease following.

Heats for the 22 cars on hand were won by Hollingsworth, Lynsey Liguori and Miller on a warm muggy evening. A few sprinkles threatened to dampen things but Montpelier would have none of it and the racing went on without a hitch.

Montpelier Motor Speedway needs to be commended for taking the chance of making midgets a part of their program last year and sticking with it this season. Car counts have increased and the drivers and teams seem to enjoy it. Last night the track was smooth and dust free with excellent racing throughout the evening. What a great sight to see and hear 22 midgets take the green flag.
