Grain Valley, MO — (October 3, 2013) — News from the owner of the Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Mo is that Thursday rains, with more forecasted at the Missouri oval, has resulted in the cancellation of the Speedway Motors Warrior Region finale on Friday, October 4.According to track officials, under current conditions, the track would not allow crews to begin working the surface until Noon on Friday. With more rain in the forecast on Friday, the decision was made to call the event. The race will not be rescheduled.
Jonathan Cornell is officially the 2013 Speedway Motors Warrior Region champion.
The 2013 season saw 18 A-Features contested with Cornell topping the season at 8 wins. Johnny Herrera with three victories and Brian Brown with two completes the list of multi-time winners in 2013. Jay Russell, Tony Bruce, Jr., Jack Dover, Jake Martens, and Seth Bergman each earned a single victory.
