December 2, 2013 – Monmouth, IL – The Engler Machine and Tool Illinois Midget Racing Association has released a preliminary 2014 schedule currently comprised of 20 events to be held at four different dirt tracks in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois.
The series will begin its 2014 campaign at the 34 Raceway in West Burlington, IA on March 29 sharing the spotlight with the Sprint Invaders 360 winged sprint car series. The Engler IMRA Series then takes a three week break before the opening race at the track with the most events, the Quad City Speedway, in East Moline, IL on Sunday, April 20th.
The series begins the month of May with two events at the Quad City Speedway before ending the month with a doubleheader Memorial Day weekend. The doubleheader begins at the Sycamore Speedway in Sycamore, IL on May 24 and ends sharing the card with the Sprint Invaders at the 34 Raceway on Sunday, May 25th.
June will see the most action for the Engler Machine and Tool IMRA Midget Series with three events at the Quad City Speedway and one event each at the Sycamore Speedway and 34 Raceways. The month is highlighted by the Engler Machine and Tool IMRA Midgets sharing the card with the famed World of Outlaw Sprint Cars at the 34 Raceway on June 27th.
The series begins July with another doubleheader weekend with one event at the 34 Raceway, as part of the UMP Super Late Model Hell Tour, June 12, before heading North to compete at the Quad City Speedway on July 13th. The series’ only visit to the Bloomfield Speedway in Bloomfield, IA takes place as part of the famous Davis County Fair on July 19th.
August and September combine to provide five events with two at the Sycamore Speedway and three at the Quad City Speedway. The Engler Machine and Tool IMRA Midget Series Championship Weekend concludes the season with a doubleheader weekend. The first event takes place on September 6 at the Sycamore Speedway and the finale of the 2014 season will be held September 7 at the Quad City Speedway.
