On Saturday, at 1:15 PM, the United Racing Company  conducted a URC Competitors Meeting at the Greater Philadelphia EXPO Center in Oaks, PA during the PPB Motorsport event.  Nearly sixty people attended the meeting with over twenty potential URC  race teams present, including four rookie teams.
URC Owners, John and Cher Zimmerman and Bob Miller reviewed  changes planned for 2014 along with the official announcement of a twenty-six race URC Rislone Sprint Series schedule.   The schedule  also includes the recently added Hagerstown Speedway date on  Friday night, August 29.   Fred Woodward of Lias/American Racer Tires  also fielded questions on the 2014 American Race Tire program.
Howard Swanson, representing the  URC Tech Committee also reviewed  changes to the 2014 URC car specifications.  It was announced at the meeting that no major changes were made to the car specs rules,  but the committee devoted much effort to updating and clarifying existing specifications.     The new 2014 URC Rule Book will be posted on the website shortly and include the clarification on the top wing and finalize the tire compounds for the coming season.
The URC handicapping will be replaced with an open pill draw for heats and a redraw for the feature.  At the URC Super Series events, URC will utilize the Revenge Redraw for the each feature event.    URC will also offer race teams two provisional for 2014.   URC regular shows will start twenty-two cars in the 25 lap feature and offer $250 to start the main event.  For the URC Super Series events, a minimum of twenty-four cars will start the feature.  The payoff and feature lap distance  for the Super Series events will vary and event sheets for all these events will soon be posted on the Competitors Page of the URC website.
