Magnolia’s USCS Frost Buster 250 season opener is a Racer and Fan Smorgasbord of Speed

Atlanta, GA – (February 14, 2014) – The United Speed Contest Sanction (USCS) invades Magnolia Motor Speedway with a USCS winged Outlaw sprint car, USCS Outlaw Modified and USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini sprint triple-header on Friday, February 28th and Saturday, March 1st and for the 6th annual “Frost Buster 250”. The event doubles as the Magnolia Motor Speedway 2014 season-opener and is a literal “Smorgasbord of Speed” featuring two full nights of high speed action at one of the Mid-South’s most popular venues. Race teams and race fans will be treated to a full menu of early season speed contests with racing in seven of the area’s most popular divisions. The event includes one of only two scheduled 2014 season appearances of the USCS “Outlaw Thunder” Tour presented by K&N Filters winged sprint cars and K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified Series at Magnolia Motor Speedway. The racing action features over 400 laps of racing around the 3/8 mile clay oval including 250+ laps of Championship main events.

Action kicks off on Friday night at 7:30pm with a full racing program in five divisions including the mighty K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified Series versus the new Gulf Coast Modified Series, Nesmith Dirt Late Model, www.RockAuto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series mini sprint, Street Stock and Mini Stock divisions.

The Magnolia Motor Speedway season-opener turns up the tempo on Saturday night with the addition of the 700+ horsepower, 1300 pound Outlaw style sprint cars of the United Sprint Car Series and the powerful ground-pounding Super Late Models. The world’s most powerful short track cars (Outlaw Sprint Cars) are expected to reach speeds exceeding 130 M.P.H. around the “Mag”. Top winged sprint car drivers from 7 states are already pre-entered for the 2014 appearance of the USCS sprint cars to Magnolia Motor Speedway.

Racing divisions featured in back-to-back nights in the cavalcade of racing include the United Sprint Car Series presented by K&N Filters  winged sprint cars (Saturday), the mighty K&N Filters USCS Modified Series, Super Late Models (Saturday), Nesmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Models, plus the popular Magnolia Motor Speedway weekly racing series Street Stocks and Mini Stocks racing divisions.

The event also features a two-day co-sanctioned throw down for racers in the Outlaw Modified division as the K&N Filters USCS Modified division racers will face off against the new Gulf Coast Modified Series drivers for a battle of the best. Drivers from at least six states are entered. It is also the season opener for both series as well. It will be the first chance of the 2014 season to score points in the USCS Modified Touring Series event on Friday night and then, try to improve their standings in Saturday night’s $1000 to win K&N Filters USCS Modified Touring Series vs. Mississippi Modified Challenge Series Championship event.

Two NASCAR veteran racers, including the 2012 “Frostbuster 250” USCS Modified event Champion, Ken Schrader and NASCAR driver and TV commentator Kenny Wallace are both entered to compete in the K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modified Series portion of the event on both Friday and Saturday nights. It will be only Schrader’s third-ever appearance at the track and the first ever appearance for Wallace.  Schrader has 970 starts in NASCAR’s top three divisions including 763 Sprint Cup and formerly Winston Cup division.

Kenny Wallace holds the record for the most NASCAR Nationwide Series (formerly Busch Grand National) starts with 543. He has also started 344 NASCAR Sprint Cup events and 13 Camping World Truck Series events for a total of 900 starts in NASCAR’s top three divisions.

The third USCS racing division on the action-packed racing card is the www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini sprints who like the Modified drivers race on both nights. Drivers for that division are expected from five states for their season opener. Local favorite Bobby Zaiontz from Columbus, Mississippi who was the 2011 and 2012 National Champion in the division and the recently crowned 2013 Champion, eighteen year old, Sean Hosey from Clarksville, Tennessee top the entry list for the USCS 600 sprints.
