Returning to the United States to resume his World of Outlaw schedule, Kerry Madsen had a strong week aboard his American Racing/Keneric Racing No. 29 machine has he pocketed two top-five finishes in three races.

“We really had a great racecar all week long, and if it wasn’t for some bad luck on Wednesday night, we probably would have had three top-five finishes, but I can’t thank everyone involved enough for their hard work.” Madsen said.

Kicking the week off in Las Vegas, NV on Wednesday night, ‘The Mad Man” won the Dash, putting his machine on the pole of the feature event, where he shot out to an early lead, and held strong command of the race for 15-laps.

Running in the second position, contact with Joey Saldana as he was slowing for a red flag caused suspension damage,  and when the race resumed, Madsen was forced to take it easy, and then contact with Brad Sweet sent Madsen spinning, and ultimately into the wall, ending his night.

Thursday night saw the Knoxville, IA resident thrill the crowd as he started in the 18th position, and rode the Las Vegas cushion to a fifth place finish, earning the Hard Charger award and exciting a throng of Keneric and American Racing employees who were on hand taking in the exciting race.

A one-day trip to Tucson, AZ closed out the week on Saturday night, and after leading the first handful of laps, a slight bobble exiting turn-two allowed Brad Sweet to get around Madsen, and Madsen would go on to close his week out with a second place finish.

“We have had a very fast racecar all year long, and I thought we had something for the win in Tucson,” he added. “I made a little mistake, and am kicking myself, but we will take the second place finish to California.”
