Owasso, OK – (March 10, 2014) – Tony Bruce Jr. will return to action this Friday and Saturday during the ASCS Gulf South Region season-opening weekend.
He will invade Golden Triangle Raceway Park in Beaumont, Texas, on Friday and Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas, on Saturday before the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour competition resumes the following weekend.
“More than anything it’s to get out and get in a rhythm,” he said of his trip to Texas for regional races.
Two years ago Bruce Jr. charged from ninth to a runner-up finish at Golden Triangle Raceway Park in regional action before nearly scoring a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour victory a month later. However, a rear end malfunction while leading with nine laps remaining forced Bruce Jr. to the pits early.
“We’ve always been pretty fast at Golden Triangle,” he said. “We’ve had some pretty good runs. It’s a short track that fits my style so I’m looking forward to going back.”
Bruce Jr. also added a fourth-place result at Royal Purple Raceway two seasons ago.
“It’s a really nice facility and I love going to a place that’s as nice as it is,” he said. “I look forward to going to a place that has a big crowd like they always get.”
Bruce Jr. will return to Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour competition March 21-22 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas.
