Marion, AR — (March 10, 2014) — Derek Hagar is on a mission this weekend to start his season 2-for-2, which would match the beginning of last season.

“We won the first two races last year so hopefully we can win this weekend in Hohenwald again after winning in Columbus to start the year,” he said.

After lapping the entire field on March 1 en route to the win with the USCS Outlaw Thunder National Series at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Miss., Hagar and the USCS invade Tennessee National Raceway in Hohenwald, Tenn., this Saturday.

“We’re taking pretty good momentum into this deal,” he said. “Hopefully we can win it again this year. We had a left rear torsion bar split and the frame rail was dragging hard last year. To pull off a win was pretty big considering the car wasn’t handling great.”

Hagar added he enjoys the competition at the short track.

“It’s a paperclip and real slick,” he said. “There’s usually a couple of lines. The last couple of times we’ve been there it’s had a top and a bottom.”
