Denver, PA — (March 16th, 2014) — ‘Super’ Alan Krimes kicked off his 2014 racing campaign just one spot short of a victory on Saturday afternoon, March 15th at the Lincoln Speedway near Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. The pilot of the Midnite Antiques, Conestoga Valley Garage, Wayne Corini, Krimes Racing Engines, no. 87 ‘410’ sprint car earned the runner-up finish during Lincoln Speedway’s annual ‘Icebreaker 30’ event; a thirty (30) lap, $3,500-to-win program which officially launched sprint car competition in the state of Pennsylvania for 2014. Unfortunately, this event was intended to be completed back on Saturday, February 22nd; but was postponed three consecutive weekends due to inclement weather conditions.

There were thirty (30) ‘410’ sprinters signed in for competition at the 2014 edition of the ‘Icebreaker 30.’ Three (3) heat races and a consolation event were used to set the afternoon’s main event starting lineup. Alan Krimes would earn a victory during his respective heat race; allowing the Denver, Pennsylvania native to be a part of the afternoon’s feature redraw. The pilot of the ‘Super 87’ would start the 30-lap, $3,500-to-win main event from the inside of the third row; climbing three spots over the course of the thirty lap feature to earn the podium finish.  Adam Wilt was the main event winner; holding off Alan Krimes and J.J. Grasso at the line for the $3,500 pay day.

Alan Krimes will return to competition at the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania next Saturday night, March 22nd. The Pigeon Hills 3/8’s mile oval will make it’s return to evening action next weekend; with the ‘358’ sprint cars and the ‘358’ late models also on the event card.
