Putting a tough weekend in Tulare, CA behind him, Jason Meyers returned to the seat of his Elite Landscape Construction/Tarlton and Son, Inc./Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino machine to score a fourth place finish with the World of Outlaws on Saturday night in Stockton, CA.

35 cars checked in for the FVP Western Spring Shootout, and Meyers stopped the clock 11th fastest in time-trials, putting him in the third heat, where a second place finish netted the Pabco Gypsum/Bandy and Associates/All Star Performance entry a berth in the Dash.

Starting and finishing fifth in the Dash, Meyers lined up for the feature in the third row, and with the track being very sticky and fast early, the Clovis, CA pilot ran fifth during much of the race.

Tip-toeing around the bottom in one and two, like most of the field, Meyers searched three and four for a faster line around the track as he fought with the King of the Outlaws, Steve Kinser for position.

A late race red flag allowed crews to make adjustments to their cars, and when the race resumed, Meyers was able to move into the fourth spot, past Kinser, and set his sights on Kerry Madsen, Joey Saldana and Donny Schatz.

With the track widening out with the laps clicking off, the lead pack got into traffic with a few to go, and Meyers was slowed behind slower traffic, and was unable to fight with the top-three and settled for a fourth place finish.

“We had a really good racecar late in the feature,” Meyers said. “The track got better late in the race, and we were able to pick up a couple spots, and have a pretty good night. I have to thank the Tarlton’s and all of their crew for letting me continue to have some fun.”

Tarlton Racing would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, Corporate America Investments, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2014 season.

ON TAP: Meyers will return to action this weekend in the Tarlton Racing No. 21M machine as he hits the Merced Speedway on Friday night and the Silver Dollar Speedway on Saturday night.
