Sooner and Warrior Regions set for 2014 season opening weekend

TULSA, Okla. (April 14, 2014) – After Mother Nature forced the cancellation of the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region opener this past Sunday, the season’s first event will now be on Friday, April 18.

 

Thankfully, track management at the West Siloam Speedway in West Siloam Springs, Okla. has agreed to keep the season opener at their facility and will host the Sooner Region this Friday.

 

The $2,000 to win, $250 to start affair is the first of a two night weekend for the Sooner Region, which heads to the Springfield Raceway in Springfield, Mo. on Saturday, April 19 for a co-sanctioned night with the Speedway Motors Warrior Region. The first event of 2014 for the Warrior Region, Saturday’s feature event is $2,000 to win, and will pay $300 to start.

 

Friday, April 18 at the West Siloam Speedway will have gates opening at 6:00 P.M. with Hot Laps getting underway at 7:00 P.M. (CT). Races begin at 8:00 P.M. The undercard for the weekend will include Front Wheel Drive, Super Stocks, and USRA B-Modifieds. Admission is $20 for adults with discounts for seniors, veterans, and children ages 5-12. Saturday, April 19, events at the Springfield Raceway will begin with Hot Laps at 5:15 P.M. (CT). Races are slated to begin at 6:00 P.M. The weekend will also include Modifieds (A&B), MW Modz, Legends, and Street Stocks. Presented by Miller Lite, the evening will also pay tribute to Don Haase.
