SAPULPA, Okla. (April 21, 2014) – Blake Hahn’s Easter Weekend started off with victory, and ended with a top-ten finish with the Griffith Truck and Equipment Gulf South Region.

Friday, April 18 saw the Old School Racing No. 17 at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway, where Hahn went head-to-head with Brandon Berryman in the closing laps; edging the Missouri City, Texas driver in the final turns of the 25 lap feature event.

“We had a caution with around 15 down. I was running third, worked to second on the restart and battled with Berryman a couple laps. I didn’t even see the white flag, I saw Berryman, and then I saw the checkered so I was pretty excited,” said Hahn of the win.

Asked about the final lap battle in traffic, Hahn chuckled at first saying, “I almost gave it away. I was trying to run the bottom underneath lapped cars, and Berryman got around me on the top. The next lap he went to the bottom, and I went to the top and got round him in one and two and then I went back to the bottom in three and four and just held my line.”

Saturday, the Griffith Truck and Equipment team made the trip to the Gator Motorplex for the Nolan Wren Memorial where Hahn settled with an eighth place finish after tangling with a lapped car while running second.

“I was supposed to start second row inside, but Channin Tankersley’s nose wing fell down, so we ended up starting on the pole. Reutzel jumped us on the start so we ran second for about half the race until we started getting into some lapped traffic. I got underneath somebody getting into three and got tangled together so I had to drop to the back but came back to eighth.”

An overall successful weekend for the Old School Racing team, Hahn will compete next with the Smiley’s Racing Products Lone Star Region at the Lubbock Speedway on Friday, April 25 and Abilene Speedway on Saturday, April 26.
