– SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (April 29, 2014) – Jack Dover enjoys Eagle Raceway immensely.
Not only is the bullring in Eagle, Neb., one of the closest tracks to his shop, it’s also a place he has found Victory Lane at multiple times.
“I have a lot of laps on that track, which is one of the best ones to race on,” he said. “It’s got a lot of banking and usually allows for a great race.”
Dover is scheduled to make his season debut at the third-mile track this Friday with the Nebraska 360 Sprints.
“I’m looking forward to getting back to Eagle,” he said. “We have some unfinished business from the last time I was there.”
Dover, who was the Eagle Raceway Rookie of the Year in 2006, led the most laps and nearly captured the famed Nebraska Cup at Eagle Raceway before mechanical issues forced him to the pits with five laps remaining in his only race at the track last season.
In 2012, Dover earned a pair of podium finishes and four top 10s in five races at Eagle Raceway.
However, 2011 was the best season Dover had at the track. In eight races, he earned five victories – including the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour Eagle Nationals – as well as two second-place finishes and one fourth-place result.
“Eagle Raceway hasn’t had a lot of 360 races each year since then,” Dover said. “That was a great season and we look forward to that type of success every time we go to Eagle.”
If Friday’s event at Eagle Raceway goes well, Dover said he will make his season debut at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday.
