Susquehanna, PA — (May 4, 2014) —

Newberrytown, PA (May 4, 2014) – Lance Dewease of Fayetteville took the victory in the Sunday Night Sprint Car at the Susquehanna Speedway Park.  It was Dewease’s 16th career SSP victory, tying for 13fh with Van May with Super 410 Sprint Car victories at SSP.  Gene Knaub of Dover collected the Late Model 25 lapper.  Mike Zelionis and Rohan Bealsey split the Sidewinder Sprint Car dual features.

Blaine Heimbach started the 410 Sprint Car 25-lapper from the pole position, but it was Brandon Rahmer taking the early lead at the start.  Rahmer led the first nine circuits until Lance Dewease made the veteran move to pass Rahmer going into turn one on the tenth circuit of the race.  The next lap, Danny Dietrich made his way by Rahmer to move into the runner-up spot and setting his sights on the leader.  Dietrich came close a few times, but was never able to make the complete pass for the lead.  Dewease held on for the win, followed by Dietrich.  Donnie Kreitz made a late race charge to finish in third with Greg Hodnett finishing fourth.  Heimbach rounded out a solid fifth place finish.  Heat race wins went to Dewease, Rick Lafferty and Aaron Ott.

In the Late Model 25-lap feature event, Ben Whitaker grabbed the early lead and set the pace for the first seven laps as Gene Knaub and J.R. Rodriguez battled for the second place position.  Once Knaub made it by Rodriguez on lap seven, he took control of the top spot on the next circuit and never looked back to take the victory.  On the last lap, Chase Billet scooted by Rodriguez to take the runner-up spot with Rodriguez finishing third.  Randy Christine Jr. finished fourth with Kyle Martin in fifth.  Whitaker’s strong run came to an end when he retired from the race on lap 19.  Matt Adams, Knaub and Rodriguez were all heat race winners.
