DJ Netto Nets Top-10 At Bradway

PETERSEN MEDIA

Make a very rare start at the Silver Dollar Speedway over the weekend, DJ Netto showed good speed on the relatively new track to him that ultimately saw him score a 10th place finish on Saturday night with at the Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial.

Starting in the seventh row of the Friday night feature event, Netto got around the Silver Dollar Speedway very well, as he was on the move early in the feature event.

At the halfway point, Netto had worked his way up into the sixth spot, and as he battle to break into the Top-Five, power steering issues arose, and Netto came to a stop on the track, and his night came to an early end, but the youngster took some confidence into Saturday night’s Dave Bradway, Jr Memorial event.

With the track being very wet early in the night, a number of hot lap sessions were needed to get it in shape, and after practice Netto sat atop the speed charts, but on this night an early pill was not a good pill, and Netto slipped back to 17th fastest, narrowly missing the heat race inversion.

Lining up in the third row of his heat race, Netto was able to work into a transfer spot, as his third place finish put him safely inside the 40-lap feature event.

Starting 13th, Netto was a little tight on the track that still had moisture in it, but he was able to make some headway.

Any ground that he was able to gain, he seemed to lose it when restarts went double file, and at the end of the race, Netto crossed the stripe in the 10th spot.

“For not running in Chico, CA much over the last few years, I think we had a pretty good weekend in general,” Netto said. “We were really strong on Friday night, and I hated that we had some bad luck. Saturday the track stayed pretty good all night, and we did not free up enough, and though we raced well, any time there was a double file restart, we seemed to lose a few spots. I have to thank Cory, and everyone that helps on this thing.”

DJ and his Netto Racing team would like to thank Netto Agriculture, Penny Newman Grain, Bogies Auto Parts, and Vande Pol Enterprises for their support in 2014.

ON TAP: Netto will be in action the Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA before heading to Petaluma, CA on Saturday night with the King of the West Series.

2014 BY THE NUMBERS: Starts-17, Wins-0, Top 5’s-0, Top 10’s-2
