– Returning to action at the Placerville Speedway in Placerville, CA on Saturday night, Andy Forsberg kept his nose down, and salvaged a 10th place finish.
“It was one of those nights, but the F&F Racing guys did a great job all night, and we ended up salvaging a Top-10,” he said.
Forsberg kick started his night by setting the standard in time trials, as he was the quick time qualifier, putting the Lucas Oil/Pit Stop USA/Roseville Precision No. X1 machine in the second row of his heat race.
Starting fourth in his heat, Forsberg was up on the wheel, as he muscled his way to a second place finish, putting him in both the feature event, and the Top Eight redraw.
The six pill put the Auburn, CA driver in the third row for the 25-lap affair, and as the race got going, Forsberg surged to the third spot, but the start was waived off.
The next start didn’t go as well for him as he slipped back to the seventh spot. Working the thick Placerville cushion, Forsberg worked on moving up, but the cushion bit him as he bounced over it, and brought his machine to a stop, bringing out the yellow flag.
In the back of the pack, Forsberg took advantage of a few yellow flags and returned to the work area to get his machine better, and the though it was not the night he was hoping for, he was able to rebound, and fight his way back up to a 10th place finish.
“It was not the prettiest night, but everyone fought during that feature event, and we were able to claw our way forward and end up with a Top-10. It’s all in one piece, and we will be back at it next week, and hopefully get this thing back to victory lane,’ he said.
