Dodge City, KS — (June 11, 2014) — Two big weekends of Sprint Car racing action are right around the corner at Dodge City Raceway Park with World of Outlaws, ASCS, NCRA and URSS Sprint Cars all taking to the 3/8-mile clay oval over the course of back-to-back weekends.

Following this Saturday night’s championship chase card, an idle weekend sets the stage for the Steve King Memorial on Saturday, June 28, and then the World of Outlaws Boothill Showdown on July 4-5.

Hosting the Steve King Memorial for the first time, the June 28 will feature the NCRA Sprint Cars squaring off with the ASCS Sooner Region along with a full slate of URSS Sprint Car action as well.

The following weekend, the world’s premier Sprint Car series rides into town for the always wildly popular Boothill Showdown over the Fourth of July weekend.

With another event on the docket prior to the Steve King Memorial, C.J. Johnson currently holds a 5-point advantage over Jeremy Campbell in the NCRA Sprint Car title chase while Dustin Morgan holds the current ASCS Sooner Region lead over Mike Goodman and Alex Sewell in the ASCS Sooner points pursuit.

While the NCRA and ASCS Sooner forces battle it out in the Steve King Memorial headliner, Wyoming’s Zac Taylor is the latest in a string of ten different winners in as many URSS events atop DCRP clay.

The following weekend, Donny Schatz and Daryn Pittman continue their World of Outlaws championship points battle at the Boothill Showdown. Schatz and Pittman split Boothill Showdown honors though currently third-ranked Joey Saldana has enjoyed the most Outlaw success at DCRP over the years with five triumphs.

Tickets for the June 28 Steve King Memorial featuring NCRA vs. ASCS Sooner Region Sprint Cars along with URSS Sprint Cars are just $20.
