Bechtelsville, PA — (June 21, 2014) — Curt Michael of Ocean View, DE scored his second Rislone URC Sprint Series feature win of 2014 Saturday night at the Grandview Speedway. Michael, driving the Bill Gallagher owned Valley Forge INC sprinter, took the lead on lap seventeen of the twenty-five lap feature event and ran unchallenged to his second URC win of the season. Michael won earlier in the year with that victory coming at Grandview as well. For Michael, it was his forty-eighth career URC victory and he earned $2,000 for the victory.

Eighteen cars took part in the racing program with heat race victories going to Jason Clauss and Curt Michael.

In the twenty-five lap feature, Josh Weller of Mertztown, PA established himself as the leader at the drop of the green flag. With one lap completed, the yellow was displayed for a three car tangle in turn two involving Ed Aikin, Brian Carber and Scott Lutz.

On the restart, Weller again set the pace with Troy Betts and Jonathan Swanson in the hunt. Eight time URC Champion Curt Michael was on a charge, advancing to third on lap three. Jeff Fithian spun his sprinter on lap five in turn four, displaying the caution one more time.

When racing resumed, Weller was the race leader with Betts and Michael in the chase.

On lap nine Curt Michael passed Troy Betts for second but before the next lap was completed, Betts was back in the runner-up spot.

As the field passed for the halfway sign, Weller and his Eldreth Construction sprinter remained at the front of the back but now Curt Michael was second followed Troy Betts, Davie Franek and Jonathan Swanson.

During the running of the first heat race, former URC Champion Robbie Stillwaggon lost a motor. His crew went to work on preparing the back-up car and Stillwaggon did start the feature race in the eighteenth position.

At the front of the pack, Weller was in a battle for the lead and Curt Michael was applying the pressure. On lap seventeen, Michael took the lead and quickly established some distance between himself and Weller. One lap later, Stillwaggon advanced to fifth and he was reeling in the front runners. Michael established a comfortable lead but in the closing laps Stillwaggon was putting on the show.

On lap twenty-four, Stillwaggon moved into fourth and was running down Troy Betts.

With the checker flag waiving, Michael took the victory with ease over Josh Weller, Troy Betts, Robbie Stillwaggon and Davie Franek.
