– After picking up his first win of the 2014 season, and first win with Williams Motorsports, at the Ocean Speedway two weeks ago, Bud Kaeding returned to the track on Friday night and picked up his second win of the season as he defeated the Taco Bravo Sprints, and locked himself into August’s Johnny Key Classic.

“That was a heckuva race,” Kaeding said. “I have to give the track prep crew some props on giving us an awesome track, and all of my Williams Motorsports guys for giving me a great racecar.”

With 23 cars on hand, Kaeding timed his Alviso Rock/BZE/Kaeding Performance entry in 11th fastest, putting himself on the front row of his heat race.

Picking up the win, Kaeding earned a spot in the Top-Eight redraw, and pulling the one pill, Kaeding put his Maxima Racing Oils/K&N/Factory Kahne Shocks entry on the pole for the 30-lap bout.

Jumping out to the early lead, Kaeding soon felt pressure by the way of Justin Sanders. The duo hooked up in a crowd thrilling battle, as they exchanged countless slidejobs as they battled for the point.

With Kaeding continuing to officially lead each lap, it was Sanders who was the official leader of the 23rd lap, before the caution flew, giving him the lead for the double-file restart.

When the green lights flashed, Kaeding was hard on the throttle, and jumped into the lead, and went on to put his Weld Wheels/Brown and Miller/NGK Spark Plugs backed machine in victory lane for the second tie of the 2014 season.

“I want to give a big thanks to Morrie and Katie Williams, and everyone at Williams Motorsports for giving me the opportunity to drive this car,” Kaeding added. “We are locked into the Johnny Key now, and that is a race we really want to win.”

ON TAP: Kaeding and the Williams Motorsports team will be in action at the Stockton Dirt Track on Saturday night before heading back to the Knoxville Raceway for the Knoxville Nationals.
