After a strong top five feature finish Saturday night at the Selinsgrove Speedway, Davie Franek of Wontage, NJ is one race closer to claiming his first ever Rislone URC Sprint Series Championship. Franek leads fellow
competitors Randy West, Ed Aikin, Josh Weller and Troy Betts in the title chase. URC’s next event is set for Friday night, August 22 with the ninth running of the $4,000 to win Rislone Nationals taking place at the Williams Grove Speedway. The lucrative payoff offers $4,000 to the winner of the 25 lap main event plus $1,000 for a tenth place finish and a hefty $325 just to take the green.
Previous winners of the Rislone Nationals include 2013 event winner and four time URC feature winner this season, Mark Smith of Sunbury, PA. In 2012, Tony Stewart was the winner with Lance Dewease taking the victory in 2011. Daryn Pittman (2010), Aaron Ott (2009), Kenny Adams (2008), Ed Aikin (2007) and Pat Cannon won the first Rislone Nationals in 2006.
Along with drivers from the Rislone URC Sprint Series roster expected entries for the Rislone Nationals includes The Cobra Chuck Hebing, Larry Kelleher, Aaron Ott, Mark Smith, Robbie Stillwaggon and Greg Hodnett to name a few.
