With the weekend paying homage to his late brother, Stephen Allard, Jonathan Allard rose to the occasion on Friday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway, as he picked up his 55th career win at the track he calls home to kick off the Fall Nationals.

“It was a great weekend, and a great tribute to my brother,” Allard said. “I would have loved to have picked up the big win on Saturday night, but it was pretty special to get the win on Friday night.”

With 48 cars checked in to the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, the driver simply known as ‘JA’, started his night off by timing his Tri-C Machine/ButlerBuilt/K&N backed No. 3c entry in 18th fastest.

Though it was not the lap Allard was looking for, the team scrambled to make adjustments to his machine, as an early engine change put them a little behind, but Allard took advantage of his front row starting spot and picked up the win, putting himself in the dash, which he would also go on to win in dominating fashion.

Leading the field to green alongside Sean Becker, Allard was quick to get the jump as he set the early pace, that saw the caution fly on the second lap.

Taking advantage of a couple of caution flags mixed into the night’s action, Allard was very strong on the hooked up speedway as he fended off Becker, until Becker bobbled, and gave the second spot to Willie Croft.

A late race restart saw Croft pull alongside Allard numerous times as they thrilled the crowd in a duel for the lead, but Allard was able to hold him off. On the closing laps of the race, Croft again challenged Allard, and made things exciting on the last lap, but Allard was too good on this night, as he celebrated his second consecutive win at the Speedway.

Returning to action on Saturday night, Allard got off to a much quicker start as he timed his entry in fifth fastest, and went on to finish in the third spot, again putting him in the dash, where he would start on the front row.

When the dash went green, Allard fell to the second spot as the field raced through turns one and two, and as they got into turn three and four, Allard made contact with the leader that got his entry upside down, causing him to miss the rest of the race, meaning he would start the feature in the 10th spot.

The 40-lap feature event went green, and Allard was able to grab a couple of spots in the early laps, until the first caution flew on the sixth lap.

As he battled inside the top-five much of the race, cautions would fall as the leaders would get into traffic, and the race struggled to get into a steady flow.

Battling with Kyle Hirst, DJ Netto, and Bud Kaeding during much of the race, Allard would close his weekend out by finishing in the fifth spot.

“We got into some trouble in the Dash, and we had so many people in our pit area thrashing, and I have to thank each and every one of them,” he said. “It shows the family atmosphere in our sport, and it means a lot. I have to thank my guys for working hard all weekend, and also thank the Lamar family for their continued support.”

Allard would like to thank Tri-C Manufacturing, K&N, ButlerBuilt, Platinum Powder Coating, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, Weld Wheels, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, Ti64, A.R.T. Speed Equipment and Hoosier Tire for their support.

2014 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-57, Wins-11, Top 5’s-28, Top 10’s-39.

ON TAP: Allard and the Tri-C Motorsports team will now begin a stretch of three consecutive weekends at the Thunderbowl in Tulare, CA as they will be in action for the unsanctioned 360ci event at the track on Saturday night.
