BERNAL CLOSES WESTERN CLASSIC TITLE WITH PETALUMA WIN

Ryan Bernal of Hollister, Calif. is the 2014 USAC Western Classic Sprint Car Champion. Saturday night he piloted the Mike Phulps Core Power/DMI Race Products ART/S & S to victory at Petaluma (Calif.) Speedway scoring his fifth win in eight starts!

Bernal passed Shawn Arriaga on lap four and led the rest of the way. Geoff Ensign finished second ahead of Frankie Guerrini, Bradley Terrell and Terry Schank Jr.

Bernal’s win gave him a 168-point margin over runner-up Matt Mitchell in the final series standings.
