Scott Hunter of Wald Lake, Mich. is the 2014 USAC Eastern HPD Midget Champion. He finished fourth and fifth in last weekend’s 35-lap series finales at Caraway Speedway in Sophia, N.C. The title is his fourth under USAC sanction.

Honda USAC National Midget Champion Christopher Bell of Norman, Okla. and Chris Lamb of Colfax, N.C. captured Friday and Sunday’s 35-lap features.

Bell passed Calvin Carroll on lap 18 and led the rest of the way for the Friday win driving the Lamb entry. Fast qualifier Blaine Leydig finished second ahead of Jessica Bean, Hunter and Nikki Carroll. Hunter led the first 14 laps and Carroll led three before yielding to Bell.

Saturday night’s scheduled race was postponed to Sunday due to forecasted rains in the area.
