Valvoline Raceway today announced an increase in the winner prize money for all Sprintcar A-Mains held during the month of March.

“The month of money” will now see the four main events on March 7, March 14, March 21 and the Track Championship final on March 28 all pay $5,000 to win.

There will also be a point fund for the four March races with first overall in points receiving $5,000, second place in the points for those races receive $3,000 and third place in the points for those races receive $2,000.

That’s a total of $18,000 in additional prize money on offer for March!

Understandably PCR posse racer Trevor Green is delighted at the news.

“This time of the year, after all those big money races in January, you tend to expect that the prize money falls off during the last part of the season at most tracks,” he explains, “so to see Valvoline Raceway add some money to the March races is a great a surprise and something that all us racers appreciate.”

Current Track Championship leader James Thompson wholeheartedly agrees.

“It’s fantastic news. The difference between a normal feature win and the March races is a big thing for our team. It gives us that little bit more incentive to try and get a win. The points fund over the four nights is exciting too.”

The likelihood of additional interstate teams racing during all four nights during March for the points fund is also strong.

“I’d think that we’ll end up with some interstate teams being based here for the month,” says Trevor Green, “that’s great for the sport but not so good for us Posse guys trying to win the bloody money! It’s an exciting way to round out the season.”
