Tulsa, OK — (April 15, 2015) — The resilient travelers of the deep southern plains are now destined for a trip to the land of Kansas where the Osage Casino Caney Valley Speedway awaits the AmeriFlex Hose & Accessories / Oil Capital Racing Series for round number three of the 2015 sprint car racing tour.

With a victory by Mustang Oklahoma’s Robert Sellers last weekend, his first in AmeriFlex / OCRS competition, there have now been 11 different winners in the past 13 AmeriFlex / OCRS events held dating back to June of 2014. Equally as amazing is the number of multiple winners the southern Kansas racetrack as produced. Going back to the 2009 season, there have been 8 winners in 10 events. Only Jamie Passmore (2012-14) and Whit Gastineau (also in ’12 & ’14) have scored more than once in the past six years at Caney Valley.

Alex DeCamp earned Caney Valley hardware w/o the wing in 2014, as did Harli White in 2013. Other winners dating back to 2009 include: Fred Mattox & Chance Morton (2013), Sean McClelland (2011), Mother Nature came out victorious in 2010 and Jonathan Beason grabbed a win in 2009.

The Osage Casino Caney Valley Speedway is a racy ¼-mile racetrack that can produce some of the tightest and most competitive open wheel racing around and the multiple number of winners over the past few seasons backs up that fact. Proven results do not lie thus it is fair to say that predicting a winner of this weekends event will be extremely difficult at best.

Tulsa racer McClelland comes into this weekends affair as the AmeriFlex / OCRS points leader after back to back runner-up finishes to start the season. Likewise, Norman Oklahoma’s Sheldon Barksdale sits just 6 points out of the series points lead after back to back third place finishes to start his season.

Car counts have been strong to start the 2015 season, as there were 34 at the Southern Oklahoma Speedway for the season opener, while Outlaw Motor Speedway had 29 dirt demons show up to play. Saturday could be more of the same as it will be the third event in a row where AmeriFlex bonus money will be up for the taking. Season opening victor Nigel Calvert and Sellers have basked in extra green paper from the Tulsa based hose & accessories supplier.
