Hohenwald, TN — (April 15, 2015) — The early Middle Tennessee 2015 racing season gets a shot of high speed adrenaline this weekend when the United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters winged sprint cars invade Tennessee National Raceway (formerly Hohenwald Motorsports) in Hohenwald, Tennessee on Saturday, April 18th at 7:30 pm during the inaugural “Spring Speed Xpolsion”.

The USCS sanctioned sprint cars headline an action-packed night of racing with a high speed USCS sprint car invasion at the 1/3 mile red clay oval located just off US Highway 412 and two miles west of Hohenwald, Tennessee. The USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters winged Outlaw style sprint cars join six of the tracks weekly racing divisions in action on Saturday night.

When the 700 horsepower, 1300 pound United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour winged sprint cars invade the speedway they are expected to step the racing tempo up with speeds near 120 miles per hour around the high-banked 1/3 mile clay oval. The USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour winged sprint car drivers will contest a complete program of winged sprint car racing including, test and tune hoy laps followed by the Hoosier Speed Dash for the top six cars from the previous event, qualifying heat races and main events. The evenings sprint car finale is a 30-lap main event paying $2000 to the winner and $300 to start the A-main event.

Drivers from at least six states are expected for the series 4th event of the season. Expected entries include the 2014 and 11-time National Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee. The 2014 USCS National Championship runner-up, Morgan Turpen from Cordova, Tennessee.. Turpen is Gray’s team-mate and the top ranked female race car driver in the Nation.

Also expected is 2010 USCS Tennessee National Raceway feature winner and 2012 USCS National sprint car Champion, Tim Crawley from Benton, Arkansas. All three of these drivers were ranked among the top 32 drivers in the Nation in the 2014 National Sprint Car Hall of Fame 360 “Driver of the Year” rankings.

Other expected entries include two-time USCS Tennessee National Raceway sprint car feature winner, Anthony Nicholson from Bartlett, Tennessee who was a six-time 2014 USCS series winner.

The USCS winged sprint cars are joined on the busy racing card by six popular Tennessee National Raceway divisions. The track’s E-MOD open wheel modified division will be contesting their Round #1 Summer Shootout Seriies event and battling for a cool $1000 to win their main event.
The Tennessee National Raceway Limited Late Models will also be on ther racing card. The Limited Late Model division include cars from a wide range of rules including area Limited Late Models, 2-Barrel Late Models and GM Performance crate engine type Late Model race cars. The speedway’s Modified Street, Mini Stock, Street Stock and Dwarf Car divisions will also be competing on Saturday night as well.

The companion Friday, April 17th USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour event scheduled at Thunderhill Raceway has been postponed to a later date, as weather has hampered the on-going remodeling and re-construction of new more spectator-friendly facilities being built.
Grandstand Adult admission for Saturday’s event is $20 for adults. Children 12 years and under in the spectator grandstands are FREE.

Pit area admission is $30 for Adults and Children 6-12 years old pricing is $10. Children 5 and Under are FREE in the pit area.
