USCS set for Travelers Rest/North Georgia May 8th and 9th

May 2, 2015 – After a four week break, the United Sprint Car Series 19th annual Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters fires back into action next weekend with a double-header at two speedways in neighboring states. On Friday, May 8th, the winged sprint car series visits Travelers Rest Speedway in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. On the following night, Saturday, May 9th the USCS sprint cars headline the inaugural “Night of the Wings” at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia. Both events pay $2000 to the winner.

The two-night weekend serves as Rounds Four and Five of the 2015 USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour and USCS Southern Thunder Tour regional series schedules . Both races will award National USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour and USCS Southern Thunder Tour regional series championship points.

Expected entries for both nights include several multi-time USCS Southern Thunder Tour sprint car feature winners during the 2014 and early 2015 seasons. Those drivers include; 11-time National and 2014 USCS Southern Thunder Tour USCS Champion Terry Gray, from Bartlett, Tennessee and former Southern Thunder regional series Champion Johnny Bridges from Cherryville, North Carolina (2 wins in 2014),

Also entered is Eric Riggins, Jr. from Charlotte, North Carolina who was a five time winner over that time period. Another entry is female racer Morgan Turpen from Cordova, Tennessee who was the USCS Road to Atlanta Hoosier Tire Asphalt Series Champion and won twice in 2014 . She was also the runner-up in the series 2014 National standings. Lance Moss also from Cherryville, North Carolina who was a winner in the series in 2014 is entered as well.

The www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini/micro sprints join the action on both Friday and Saturday nights for a USCS open wheel double-header. Drivers from at least five states are expected for the series fifth and sixth events of the young racing season.

The two USCS sprint car series are joined on the busy racing card each night by four other divisions on the racing cards to create two action-packed nights of racing.

On Friday night, at Travelers Rest Speedway, a full program of stock car racing is on tap including a $1500 to win Monster Mini Stock Association event plus the track’s Thunder Bomber, Renegade and Front wheel Drive divisions. On Saturday night at North Georgia Speedway the Crate Late Models, Sportsman, A Hobby and Pony divisions also compete.
