TULSA, Okla. (May 5, 2015) The Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by MAVTV American Real heads for a pair of legendary ovals this week, with the series return to Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan. on Thursday, May 7 and I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark. on Saturday, May 9.

Twice visited by the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour in 2007 and 2008, the McCarthy Auto Group KC Klassic at Lakeside Speedway is a joint venture between TBJ Promotions and Racinboys.com. Gary Wright and Wayne Johnson stand as the only winners in ASCS competition at the famed half-mile oval.

Adding to the Thursday night showdown, Kenny’s Tile has added a $500 to the winner’s purse. Thursday’s McCarthy Auto Group KC Klassic kicks off a busy week of racing in the Kansas City area, which plays host to NASCAR at the nearby Kansas Speedway. The Steve King Foundation will also be on hand Thursday night.

Tickets for the McCarthy Auto Group KC Klassic are on sale at http://www.racinboys.com. Tickets can be purchased at the gate on the day of the race with action getting underway at 7:30 P.M. (CT).

Allowing a day to travel, the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour will aim south for the I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark. for the series 75th night of action at the track known as “Hammer Hill”. The series only tune up for the COMPcams Short Track Nationals, happening Halloween weekend, Aaron Reutzel looks to keep his hold on the quarter-mile oval, after several jaw dropping performances in 2014, including the Texas driver’s first Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour triumph on April 12, 2014.

Leading the charge into the weekend, Reutzel maintains a 78 point lead over Johnny Herrera. The pair experience hardship during last weekend’s Rock ‘N Roll 50 with right rear tires going flat under red with 10 laps to run. Costing Aaron a chance at his first win in the 50 lap event, the charge from the back was one to watch as Aaron cracked the top five, but would ultimately settle for sixth at the finish. Sixth at the time the tire went flat, Johnny Herrera would climb back to finish 14th.

With his second Gibson Guitar in hand, Seth Bergman gained substantially in the season point standings to third from seventh, now trailing by 110 markers. Jeff Swindell currently completes the top five in driver standings with Tony Bruce, Jr. sixth.

Placing third at Riverside, Wayne Johnson jumped three spots to seventh with Matt Covington ninth and Kyle Bellm cracking the top-ten.

In the running for the win before contact with the wall sent the No. 52 to the pits, Blake Hahn moved to 11th with Derek Hagar in tow. Having to take a provisional into last Saturday’s feature event, Kris Miller is currently 22nd with Jordan Weaver 27th after an engine failure sidelined the No. 92 during a B-Feature on Saturday night.

Saturday night at the I-30 Speedway gets underway at 7:30 P.M. (CT).
