USAC Southwest and West Coast sprints in action this weekend

Indianapolis, IN — (May 12, 2015) — R.J. Johnson goes for an unprecedented fifth consecutive USAC Southwest Sprint Car Series victory this Saturday when the series visits Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Ariz.

Johnson now has 24 series wins to his credit, including an April 18 win at Queen Creek. He also won three times at Arizona Speedway in 2013.

Charles Davis Jr. trails Johnson by 58 points in the most recent standings. He has “top-10” finishes in all five races conducted so far this year.

Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif. hosts Saturday night’s “Chris & Brian Faria Memorial” USAC West Coast Sprint car event where former champion Danny Faria, Jr. holds a 43-point lead over Ryan Bernal.

Five of Bernal’s 22 career West Coast wins have come this year, including a March 14 victory at Tulare.
