Stockton, CA – (June 9, 2015) – An extremely close and intense fight for the King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series point lead will invade the centrally located Stockton Dirt Track this Saturday night June 13. The event marks the sixth race of the season for the tour and the first of three stops at the track this year.

The outing on Saturday will be the fifth ever appearance for the King of the West 410’s in Stockton, a track that opened up in the spring of 2013. There have been four different winners in the previous four events held, including Fresno’s Dominic Scelzi, Rutherford’s Rico Abreu, Chico’s Jonathan Allard and most recently Fremont’s Shane Golobic, who took home the KWS season finale last November. Going into Saturday just 18-markers separate the top-four in the standings.

Campbell’s Bud Kaeding maintains a slim three-point advantage over Lemoore’s Carson Macedo at the top of the standings. Kaeding, a three-time USAC Silver Crown champ, has already claimed two wins this year and is coming off a seventh place finish last week in Chico. Macedo is still in search of his first career King of the West win after scoring a fifth place finish last week. The 19-year-old is the KWS track record holder at the Stockton Dirt Track and looks to crack off a victory on Saturday.

The inaugural KWS winner at the Stockton Dirt Track, Dominic Scelzi, ranks third in the standings and is only seven behind Kaeding. The 18-year-old has shown lots of speed this year and will be searching to put it all together on Saturday. Last November’s Stockton winner Shane Golobic sits fourth in points, only 18 out of the lead. The reigning Civil War Series champion has been the most consistent driver over the course of the five full point events this year with the King of the West Series.

Sacramento’s Willie Croft always runs strong at the Stockton Dirt Track and is coming off his best night of the season in Chico, where he set fast time and ran third in the feature. The reigning Trophy Cup winner completes the top-five in the KWS points. Rounding out the top-10 in the standings and looking for good things on Saturday will be Elk Grove’s Bobby McMahan, 13-time series champion Brent Kaeding of Campbell, last week’s KSE hard charger & three-time KWS titlist Jonathan Allard, Hanford’s DJ Netto and Gilroy’s Jarrett Soares.

After scoring a runner up finish during his season debut last week, 2009 King of the West champion Tyler Walker will look to finish one spot further up on Saturday. It will be the Los Angeles wheel-man’s first ever start at the Stockton Dirt Track. Last week Walker was forced to the rear of the field after an early spin and thrilled the crowd by charging back for the second place finish, nearly picking up the win. Fresno’s Craig Stidham was able to hold him off and earn the second triumph of his KWS career. Stidham looks to carry the momentum into Stockton on Saturday.

More drivers expected for the Stockton Dirt Track Saturday will include two-time & reigning King of the West champion Kyle Hirst from Chico, 2004 series titlist Jason Statler of Grass Valley, Penngrove’s Chase Johnson, Hanford’s Mitchell Faccinto, Roseville’s Colby Copeland, Scotts Valley’s Evan Suggs, Auburn’s Richard Brace Jr, Visalia’s Cory Eliason, Coarsegold’s Scott Parker, Grass Valley’s Pat Harvey, Winton’s Gordon Rodgers and others.

Saturday is also the 3rd Williams Roofing Royal Fan Pill Draw night. The fan automatically wins $100 and if the driver wins the feature from the starting spot drawn, the driver receives a $1000 bonus. The Williams Roofing Draw is taking place at KWS events that are part of the Prentice Motorsports Group Double Down Bonus weekends, which includes this week at Stockton.
