ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. (June 16, 2015) – Dale Blaney is at a high level heading into one of the biggest weeks of the year.

Blaney leads the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., backed CH Motorsports team into the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions Ohio Speedweek, which showcases nine races at eight tracks in nine days beginning this Friday.

“We’re really in good shape equipment-wise,” he said. “You never know what you’re going to get. We’ve been running well and everybody has confidence. Speedweek has been really good to us. Hopefully we can keep consistency going.”

Blaney, who is a five-time Ohio Speedweek champion, is coming off another successful weekend with the All Stars.

He kicked off last Thursday’s event at Canandaigua Motorsports Park in Canandaigua, N.Y., by setting quick time before finishing fourth in a heat race to lock himself into the dash.

“It’s really important to be first or second quick in qualifying,” he said. “That’s a huge bonus where you don’t have to really race your way into the dash. You can just maintain and get in the dash. We put down a good qualifying lap and was pretty good in the heat race.”

Blaney picked up a position to place third in the dash, which lined him up on the inside of the second row for the 25-lap main event.

“It was a pretty fun race that went green to checkered,” he said. “Lapped traffic really came into play the last half of the race. I was pretty much the only guy in the top three running the top of turns three and four. There weren’t as many lapped cars up there. I got to second halfway through and then I was behind Lucas (Wolfe) for six or seven laps before I got by him.”

Blaney guided the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., sponsored sprint car into the lead with three laps remaining en route to his fifth victory of the season.

Blaney and the team tackled Lincoln Speedway on Saturday following Friday’s rainout at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa.

“That place is notorious for slowing down a little bit during qualifying,” he said. “It actually got a little better. I wasn’t shocked that we cut a good lap. It was really important to get that done.”

Blaney timed in quickest during qualifying before scoring a third-place result during a heat race. That locked him into the dash, where a sixth-place finish lined him up on the outside of the third row for the main event.

“I fell back to seventh or eighth early,” he said. “About Lap 5 I didn’t know if I could run in the top 10. I was really snug. I knew I was going to get better, but I hadn’t been that way in a long time. I think around Lap 20 I was seventh and I dove it to the bottom and came up in front of (Tim) Shaffer. I did that to a couple more cars to climb up to fourth. If it would have been a 40-lapper I liked my chances of getting to third. It’s a place I kind of struggle at so I was glad to get a good finish.”

Blaney’s fourth-place result kept him in the lead of the All Star championship standings entering Ohio Speedweek.
