World of Outlaws Tickets on sale for NAPA Sprint Car Extravaganza at Junction Motor Speedway on August 18

McCOOL JUNCTION, Neb. — July 6, 2015 — Tickets are now on sale for the NAPA Auto Parts Sprint Car Extravaganza Presented by Mid-Nebraska Land Developers featuring the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and Nebraska 360 Sprint Car Series at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Neb., on Tuesday, August 18. The event will mark the first time that the two series have competed together on the same card, giving sprint car fans the best of both worlds, getting to see 410-winged sprint cars and 360-winged sprint cars on the same night.

Donny Schatz, the six-time and defending series champion, who drives for Tony Stewart Racing, won for the second time in his career last year at Junction Motor Speedway. The North Dakota native is the only current driver competing full-time with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series that has won at the track. A recent hot streak has seen Schatz finish first or second in 14 of the last 16 races. At one point, he won five in a row and has a total of 19 victories already this season.

 

Also in action with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will be Shane Stewart, who is currently second in points, with four wins this season and 2013 World of Outlaws champion Daryn Pittman, who has three wins thus far in 2015. Kerry Madsen, from Australia, is currently third in points and will be looking for his first win at Junction Motor Speedway. Brad Sweet, who is Pittman’s teammate at Kasey Kahne Racing, is currently fourth in points and has three wins this year. Joey Saldana, who has relatives in Nebraska, rounds out the top-five in points.

 

Other drivers competing full-time with the World of Outlaws this season that will be in attendance at Junction Motor Speedway include: veterans Paul McMahan, Jason Sides and Kraig Kinser, as well as young guns David Gravel, Logan Schuchart and Jacob Allen. Jason Johnson, who is the leading contender for the Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year Award will also be in attendance, having recently returned after nearly three months out of the car due to injury.

 

Leading the way for the Nebraska 360 Sprint Car Series is veteran driver Billy Alley, who has nine top-10 finishes in as many starts. Jack Dover, a Nebraska native, is currently second in points and leads the series with five wins. Cody Ledger is third in the current standings with a win, while Jordan Boston and Tyler Drueke round out the top-five in points. Brian Brown, who won earlier this season with the World of Outlaws, has a pair of wins with the Nebraska 360 Sprint Car Series this year, while Jonathan Cornell also has been to victory lane thus far in 2015.
