– CLAY, N.Y. (July 14, 2015) – Joe Trenca will make his much anticipated return to Eldora Speedway this weekend for the first time since his debut at the famed half-mile oval near Rossburg, Ohio, last summer.
Trenca and Mucci Motorsports will compete with the NRA Sprint Invaders this Friday and Saturday during the 32nd annual Kings Royal.
“Eldora is definitely a prestigious place,” he said. “To be a part of the Kings Royal weekend is pretty cool. Being able to race both nights last year was a big deal and hopefully we can be successful this weekend.”
Trenca recorded 19th-place finishes during both races at Eldora Speedway last year.
“The track is very unique,” he said. “There’s not a track I’ve raced on that’s close to that. It’s fast-pace racing. You have to make your moves quick and the guys you are racing against are really, really good.”
Trenca, who has earned three top-five finishes in his last 12 races, is aiming for positive results this weekend.
“Last year we were pretty decent there, but we had a few setbacks,” he said. “We’ve learned a lot the last month or so and my driving style has changed. We just have to have a little luck on our side. We have to get a good qualifying spot, do well in the heat race and be in contention during the main event. Of course we want to win, but a top five would be great there.”
