PETERSEN MEDIA- Sean Becker had a very strong weekend, as he charged from eighth to third on Friday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway aboard the Menne Motorsports No. 75 machine before returning to victory lane at the Placerville Speedway on Saturday night at the helm of the Monhoff Motorsports No. 35 machine.

“Friday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway was a rare night where the track stayed pretty narrow and it was tough to pass on, but my guys gave me a really good car and we were able to make some headway,” Becker said. “Saturday night Dan Monhoff and his team made changes all through the night that paid off, and we were able to win again.”

Getting the weekend kicked off at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, Becker timed the Mike’s Hard Lemonade/Cherry Street Mini Storage/Menne Ranch Hay Inc. 75 machine in fifth fastest.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Becker would finish in the fourth spot, and earn a spot in the nightly redraw by way of his qualifying time. Pulling the eight pill, the Roseville, CA driver would line up in the fourth row for the 25-lap A Main.

On a track that stayed in very good shape all night long, passing would be tough though Becker was able to make some moves. Driving a very patient race, Becker would carve his way forward as he moved into the third spot and chased after Koen Shaw and Jonathan Allard.

A late restart gave Becker one finale chance to make a bid for the race win, but he would settle for third at the line.

“Though we did not get the win, it was great to see Koen Shaw score his first ever win,” Becker said. “The Shaw’s are a great family and I am very happy for them. We were really good, but it was tough to make up a lot of ground, and I am just thankful my team was able to give me a car that was strong enough to do what we were able to do.”

Heading to the Placerville Speedway on Saturday, Becker climbed back aboard the Dan Monhoff owned No. 35 machine for a final Forni Classic tune up.
Qualifying third quickest, Becker would find himself in the second row for the A Main event, as he ran in the third spot for the first few laps until he made a big move on the fifth lap to take over the race lead.

Running strong out front, a lap 15 restart saw Becker challenged by second and third running Mike Benson and Shane Golobic, but able to clear his competitors, Becker was flawless as he raced his way to his second consecutive victory at the Placerville Speedway.

“We were able to get to the front using the top and bottom of the speedway,” Becker added. “The cushion was tricky, but once we got to the lead I just hit my marks and we were able to grab another win.”

Becker would like to thank Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Cherry Street Mini Storage, Menne Ranch Hay Inc., Astro Titanium, Ponybracket.com, Hunt’s Race World, Molecule, Shaver Racing Engines, FK Rod Ends, and K&N for their support in 2015.
