$80,000 Port Royal Living Legends Sprint & Late Model Dream Race Is Saturday

Port Royal – The fantastic Port Royal Speedway Living Legends Dream Race sponsored by Slivinski Law Offices, Lelands.com, Moose Blocks and WJUN 92.5 FM will take place this Saturday, August 8 at 7 pm with gates opening at 4.

 

A tremendous total event value worth nearly $80,000 is on the line for the 410 sprint and super late model drivers, with both divisions competing in this years Dream event.

 

Honored this season will be legendary veterans Scott Haus and car owner Ed Powell, who both owned and/or drove sprints, modifieds and late models during their careers.

 

The 410 sprints will time trial before competing in twin 16-lap semi features paying full purses with the top 10 finishers transferring directly into a 35-lap Dream A Main paying a minimum of $10,000 to win out of a total feature purse worth nearly $34,000 alone.

 

The super late models will take time before they compete in heat races that transfer them to the special 21-lap late model A Main with a purse worth over $10,000 alone that pays $2,100 to win and $210 to start.

 

Both divisions will be competing for thousands of dollars including lap money, fast time awards, hard charger awards and more.

Prior to the event, Haus and Powell and a host of former Powell late model drivers will greet fans while live, on-air radio broadcasts take place on WJUN 92.5 FM.

 

Free ice cream courtesy of the Juniata Dairy Council and vouchers for deli sandwiches from Mexico Market will be given away on a first come, first serve basis.

 

Gates for the race open at 4 pm.

 

Adult general admission for the big show is set at $27 with students ages 12 – 18 priced at JUST $7.

 

Despite constant increases in cost and payout to the program, adult admission for the event has not been increased dating back to 2010.

Lots To See And Do For Fans Before & During Saturday Port Royal Dream Race

Autograph Sessions, Show Cars, Free Ice Cream, Free Sandwiches, Radio Broadcasts On Tap

 

Port Royal – Sprint car and late model fans will have plenty to see and do before all the racing action begins at this Saturday’s Port Royal Speedway Living Legends Dream Race.

 

The event this year honors veteran and retired driver and car owner Scott Haus and Ed Powell, respectively.

 

And in honor of both men, numerous names in the sport will turn out for the laurels.

 

Prior to the races an autograph session with Haus and Powell along with several other Powell drivers will take place in the area of the grandstand.

 

Tentatively slated to appear aside from the honorees are Chris Shuey, Gary Beward, Dustin Hoffman, Jeff Smith, Don Schick, Brian Seidel and AJ Hoffman.

 

Shick himself, who drove for Powell in the in the mid 2000s, will be on hand to compete in the late model portion of the evening.

 

On display before the show will be a trio of replica and actual Haus and/or Powell super late models.

 

Slated to be put on display is one of the final No. 21 cars throttled by Haus in 2014.

 

Haus’ son Andy will show off a replica Beech Creek Racing No. 33 machine before campaigning the car in the event and a red Powell No. 1H will be on display and later driven by Tim Fedder.

 

Live remote radio broadcasts by WJUN 92.5 FM will take place on the grounds beginning at 4 pm.

 

And as coordinated by WJUN 92.5, FREE ice cream will be given to fans on a first come, first serve basis, as long as supplies last, courtesy of the Juniata County Dairy Council.

 

Fans will also receive FREE coupons for deli sandwiches courtesy of Mexico Market, also on a first come, first serve basis, as long as supplies last.

Two Big Money Promotions Just Announced For Saturday Port Royal Dream Race,

Sausman Insurance & Slivinski Law Offices Ante Up For Fans and Drivers!

 

Port Royal – A pair of late breaking promotions have just been announced for this Saturday’s Living Legends Dream Race at Port Royal Speedway.

 

Sausman Insurance Agency of Mifflintown and Millersburg will supply a money booth for the prestigious event and a few lucky fans will have a chance to grab some cash.

 

The money grab in the wind-blown money booth will take place on the stage during intermission on Saturday with lucky fans getting 15-seconds inside the machine to grab as much flying cash as possible.

 

In addition, for the racers, event sponsor Slivinski Law Offices of Selinsgrove has put up a $1,000 challenge bonus for the lucky fan-voted driver that tags the sprint car Dream A Main.

 

Following the conclusion of the consolation race, by virtue of vocal cheers and all around noise making, fans will vote for and choose a final starter for the sprint feature with the driver that generates the loudest response getting the nod.

 

Slivinski Law Offices will then pay that specific driver a $1,000 bonus if he or she can race into a top 10 finish in the 35-lap feature.
