Inside Line Promotions – IMPERIAL, Pa. (Aug. 4, 2015) – Dale Blaney has gotten hot at the perfect time of the year.

Blaney and the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., backed CH Motorsports team recorded six feature victories during a 12-day period, including a sweep of the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions tripleheader last weekend.

“We added it up and have earned $47,000 during that period,” he said. “The Month of Money has been good. We just need to keep it up for the next week and a half when we go to Knoxville.”

Last weekend began on Friday at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, with Blaney qualifying fifth quickest overall and first in his group. He maneuvered from fourth to second place in a heat race to lock into the dash, where a seventh-place result lined him up on the inside of the fourth row for the main event.

“In the dash we just weren’t right and it showed in a hurry,” he said. “I went straight to the back. I knew we were going to be all right once we fixed what we did. I knew I could get back to the front in the feature.”

Blaney maneuvered into second place during the first half of the 30-lap race before he took the top spot on Lap 16.

“I was running fifth when rubber started coming down in turns three and four,” he said. “I just found a lane getting into turn one up on the race track probably a car length or two higher than everybody else was. It gave me a huge run off turn two and I passed a lot of guys getting into turn three.”

Blaney returned to Atomic Speedway on Saturday for the $10,000-to-win Open Wheel Championships. He timed in fifth quickest in qualifying – third in his group – and won a heat race to advance into the dash. Blaney then picked up four positions in the dash to place sixth, starting him on the outside of the third row for main event.

“It took a little rubber in turns three and four with about 10 laps to go,” he said. “I thought the race track was a lot better the second night. I was patient and had a good starting spot. I didn’t want to spin my tires or wear my stuff out early. Sheldon (Haudenschild) looked like he struggled a bit the last 10 laps and I kept getting better and better.”

Blaney used his experience to power into the lead in the closing laps. The victory was his 125th career with the series.

“I attribute 80 percent of it to experience,” he said. “I’ve made thousands of laps at Atomic and in the same situations. It’s not something you can put a price on. When the rubber starts spotting in places it’s in the back of my mind where I need to go.”

The weekend wrapped up on Sunday at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, where the Mainstream Holdings, Inc., sponsored team set quick time during qualifying. Blaney then finished where he started in a heat race – fourth – and in the dash – fourth – to line up on the outside of the second row for the main event.

“Anywhere in the second row is pretty good to me,” he said. “They threw some water on the whole track right before the feature. It was a huge help. You could maneuver around and could get up on the fence and get rolling. (Tim) Shaffer took off early and set a good pace. I bided my time. We had a harder left rear tire on and that thing really took off about 10 laps in. I was able to run through the black better than some guys could.”

Blaney took the lead around the midpoint of the 25-lap main event and he drove away to register his fifth consecutive UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions victory, which gives him a 227-point advantage in the championship standings.

The team returns to competition this Sunday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, for the Capitani Classic and Monday at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, for the Front Row Challenge with the FVP National Sprint League.
