(August 4, 2015) – London, Ontario – The 20th season of Southern Ontario Sprints series racing continues this weekend when the tour heads back to Brighton Speedway and Humberstone Speedway for the 8th and 9th rounds of the 2015 calendar.

CHAMPIONSHIP CHASE
The 2015 SOS championship chase is starting to wind down, as just five points-paying events remain on the schedule. Mitch Brown leads the championship standings by 58 points heading into the doubleheader weekend, followed by 5-time and defending SOS champion Glenn Styres, 2013 champ Chris Jones, 2-time champ Keith Dempster, Jamie Turner, Cory Turner, 2015 Rookie of the Year candidate Ryan Turner, 2014 Rookie of the Year Shawn Sliter, Frank Baranowski, and Dain Naida.

AUGUST 8 – BRIGHTON
Saturday’s event will be the fourth Brighton Speedway visit for the SOS tour in 2015. Sanderson Tire & Automotive presents the SOS portion of Rapid Rad & Star 93.3 Night at the 1/3 mile oval, located on the shores of Lake Ontario in Northumberland County.

Mitch Brown claimed the win in the SOS series opener at Brighton on May 16, while Glenn Styres got Brighton wins on June 20 and July 11. The SOS tour has visited Brighton 92 times since 1997, with Rick Wilson’s 21 wins there topping the all-time list.

AUGUST 9 – HUMBERSTONE
Sunday’s event will be the second Humberstone Speedway visit for the SOS tour in 2015. Zanchin Truck & Trailer presents the action at the 1/3 mile oval located in Niagara Region on the shores of Lake Erie.

The Humberstone event will mark the final race of Stan Zanchin’s career. Zanchin will hang up his helmet after Sunday’s race at the same place where his career began in 1980.

Parker Price-Miller topped a strong field of 25 cars to score the SOS feature win at Humberstone on May 17. The SOS tour has visited Humberstone 11 times since 2002, with 10 different drivers visiting victory lane, as Glenn Styres is the only driver with multiple wins there.
