Port Royal Port Royal Speedway will present a special night on Saturday, August 15 when it hosts DMI $1 Hot Dog Night/Camera & Autograph Night, featuring the Weikert’s Livestock 410 sprints, super late models, Gray’s Auto & Towing econo late models and the All American Outlaws at 7 pm.

Aside from the racing, DMI will sponsor a Kids Candy Scramble on the track during the night when pounds and pounds of candy will be given away to kids ages 12 and under.

From 5 pm when gates open until 6 pm, general admission ticket holders will be permitted access to the pit area in order to meet and greet the drivers and see their cars up close.

In addition, hot dogs will be sold for the entire evening at the low price of just $1.

On the track, racing action will prove pivotal in the chase for the 2015 410-sprint track title.

At the top of the heap going into the show is Lucas Wolfe followed by Mike Wagner and Dylan Cisney.

And a good run by Port Royal’s own Cisney would put him directly in the thick of the championship battle with six point events remaining on the 2015 schedule of events after August 15.

For the super late models, Mike Lupfer is in command of the standings, trying to garner a second track crown in a row while Mitch Hack chases him, with only four point races to go.

The econo late models will have just three point shows to go after this week’s action.

Elsewhere, announcement has just been made of a tribute to late speedway push truck driver Bill Long, coming up on August 22.

In memory of Long, Sterling Trucking will sponsor the sprint car portion of August 22 with the 25-lap feature paying $4,000 to win along with an increased purse for the top five finishers in the event.

The winner will also be presented with a commemorative trophy.
