Hagar charges to 34th USCS win in Ellis Palasini Classic at Greenville Speedway

Greenville, MS – August 14, 2015 – United Sprint Car Series (USCS) Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters 2013 National champion Derek Hagar from Marion, Arkansas dueled with 2012 USCS Champion, Tim Crawley for the first half of the race, then, held off a determined Brad Bowden and raced from his K&N Filters Pole Position into the www.rockauto.com USCS Victory Lane 30 laps later in the Ellis Palasini Classic at Greenville Speedway on Friday night. The win was Hagar’s fifth USCS win of the season and thirty-fourth career win in series competition.

Bowden from Hernando, Mississippi raced under the checkers in the runner-up position after an impressive performance on the evening. Zack Pringle from Benton, Arkansas, who started fourth, followed Bowden in the K&N Filters Podium Award third place. Crawley also from Benton, Arkansas raced past the flag stand in fourth place and three-time 2015 USCS feature winner, Marshall Skinner from Marion, Arkansas rounded out the top five drivers.

1998 USCS National Champion, Eddie Gallagher from Olive Branch, Mississippi led the next group on sixth place Gallagher was followed 11-time USCS National Champion, Terry Gray from Bartlett, Tennessee in seventh place. Hernando, Mississippi’s Jerod Roller finished in eighth place followed by 2008 USCS Rookie of the Year and six-time 2014 feature winner, Anthony Nicholson from Millington, Tennessee. USCS Mid South regional series point’s leader Morgan Turpen from Cordova, Tennessee completed the top ten finishers.

Marshall Skinner kicked off the evening’s sprint car action by winning the USCS Hoosier Tire Speed Dash. Tim Crawley then captured the win in the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat. Klint Angelette from Thibodeaux, Louisiana won the Butlerbuilt Second Heat. Derek Hagar bested Brad Bowden for the top spot in the Schoenfeld Headers Third Heat. Jerod Roller charged past the most cars (seven) in the main event to capture the Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger Award.

The United Sprint Car Series returns to action on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in the USCS Summer Speed Xplosion that also includes the K&N Filters USCS Outlaw Modifieds, Late Models, the Mississippi State Street Stock series and Factory Stocks.
